Argentina is located in the southern region of South America, and is the second largest country within South America in land area and eighth in the world, covering 2.8 million square kilometres.

Argentina is located between the Andes mountain range in the west and the southern Atlantic Ocean in the east. The country is bordered by Paraguay, Bolivia, Brazil, Uruguay and Chile.

Argentina contains some of the world's highest mountains, largest deserts and impressive waterfalls. The diversity of the country, ranges from the city of Buenos Aires in the north to wild and remote areas of southern Patagonia.

Regions within Argentina, iclude Cuyo and the Andean Northwest, Mesopotamia and the Northeast, the Chaco, the Pampas, Patagonia and the Lake District, plus Tierra del Fuego in the far south of the country.
