Aruba is a 32 km-long
island of the Lesser Antilles located in the Caribbean Sea
and 27 km north of the Paraguaná Peninsula in Venezuela.
The country is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Unlike much of the Caribbean region, Aruba has
a dry climate and an arid, cactus-strewn landscape. This climate
has helped to develop the country's tourism industry as visitors
to the island can reliably expect warm, sunny weather.
Pristine white beaches are located on the
south and west coasts of the island. Visibility in some areas
of the surrounding sea reaches to a depth of a hundred feet.
The watapana, or divi-divi tree located around the island are
sculpted by the
trade winds.
English is spoken and the US dollar is accepted everywhere
on Aruba. |
